Senior Engineer – Design Quality & Compliance.

LOCATION

ABSQ, Navi Mumbai.

JOB PURPOSE

As a Senior Engineer- Design Quality & Compliance ensures the product meets all regulatory & industry standards for safety, performance & quality. Ensure the team with the latest regulatory guidelines update & continuously monitor & coordinate with regulatory bodies. Responsible for the audit process end to end to meet the QMS of R&D; process. Verification of USP/Claim technical clearance. Responsible to ensure the NPD process as per ISO 9001:2015/ISO 17025

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Design Quality Process.

- Ensure the projects as per the NPD Milestone process & deliverables are on track.
- Ensure the Periodic review with CFT for NPD process upgrade & amendment.
- Ensure the implementation of design quality plans, USP/Claims and methodologies for product design and development.

Design Quality tools Application

- Ensuring the key tools applicability for smooth project flow like the Design Review completion, DFMEA closure, HBSRA, FCR prediction for relevant new projects.

Design Verification & validation

- Ensure the Design Verification & validation by reviewing the prototype/N10 test reports in aspect of Safety, performance & warranty / reliability terms as per NPD requirements.
- Develop and execute verification plans to ensure designs meet specified requirements.

Regulatory Compliance-

- Maintain up-to-date knowledge/Sharing of relevant regulations, standards, and industry practices, both domestic and international.
- Handle and resolve complex compliance issues, providing advanced support to the engineering and product development teams.
- Identify and assess risks related to regulatory non-compliance highlight to the CFT /project team.
- Ensure compliance throughout the product lifecycle,



from development through to production and post-market.
- Active CFT member in Draft standard preparation of IS & IEC.
- Consolidated comments in Discussion of CFT on IS & IEC draft standard.

Product Certification-

- Manage and ensure the process for obtaining necessary certifications and approvals for products.
- Ensure the point of contact with regulatory bodies and certification agencies.
- Testing Methodology alignment & test report interpretation.
- Product Manual guidance to factory for Product Certification & inclusion.

Documentation and Reporting-

- Ensure and maintain detailed documentation for regulatory submissions, including test reports, technical files, and compliance statements.
- Generate comprehensive compliance requirements for NPD /LCM Projects.

Audit Preparation & Closure:

- Prepare and support regulatory audits and inspections, ensuring all documentation and processes are in place.
- Conduct the internal audits Monthly / Biannual / Annual to ensure ongoing compliance with regulations and standards.
- Responsible to Coordinate in Surveillance audits & recertification audits.

USP & Claims

- Technical Verification of USP/Claims & clearance as per CPA guidelines.

Learning & Development

- Continuously enhance the learning skills & capabilities to enhance in next level leadership & support for better business performances.

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS

B.E, B. Tech/ M.E, M. tech- Mechanical/Electricals & Electronics.

Work Experience

5 to 10 years

Worked in QA / DQC role & certification bodies.

CERTIFICATIONS





QMS - ISO 9001 -2015 / ISO 17025 training Certification.

Internal Auditor Certification (organization based/ external)

Six Sigma Green belt (Optional)

PREFERRED/ ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENT

Industry Preference – Consumer durables /Lighting products – QA /DQC, Certification Bodies in QA / technical lead.

Positive understanding & knowledge on IS 9001 :2015 & ISO 17025 :2017.

Good understanding & interpretation IS & IEC standard.

Ability to Consolidate & propose BEE star rating w.r.t BIS standard.

Ability to manage multiple compliance projects simultaneously.

Strong problem-solving /Statistical skills like 8D, 7 QC, SPC, MSA, DFEMA, DFSS.
