To lead and shape simulation-driven product development, ensuring the accuracy of predictive models and optimizing performance and cost-effectiveness in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead simulation efforts in NPD, VAVE, and LCM projects, ensuring that digital tools and predictive engineering methods forecast performance and lifespan accurately.
- Oversee the creation of simulation models that predict the structural integrity of products, providing insights that influence product development and validation.
- Develop advanced structural solutions to quantitatively assess and conclude on structural integrity life of products that are in design
- Oversee and guide development and maturation of high-fidelity simulation models for various Adv Dev, NPD, and VAVE initiatives of consumer appliances and lighting products .
- Review the outcomes, propose design improvements with respect to cost, quality, and performance.
- Implement multi-year roadmaps for simulation load-cases development utilizing emerging technologies as AI and ML
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives by enhancing simulation processes to achieve FTR outcomes, on-time delivery, and improved turnaround times.
EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS
- Structural Simulations: MTech in Design / Mechanical / Automobile / Aerospace Engineering
- CFD Simulations: MTech in Thermal/Heat Power / Mechanical / Automobile / Aerospace Engineering
EXPERIENCE
- 10-15 years of experience in Digital simulation and virtual validation
- Strong expertise Structural/Flow simulations. Exposure to multiphysics simulations like Strength Durability, Flow Thermal, NVH, Optimization and coupled simulations is preferred
- Proven technical leadership skills and experience mentoring junior team members
- Proficiency in DFSS methodologies and problem-solving tools techniques is desirable
CERTIFICATIONS
- Design Thinking Certification
PREFERRED/ ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENT
- Proficiency in RCA and problem-solving tools and techniques, statistical tools and techniques
- DFSS Green Belt/ Black Belt is desirable
- Solid Technical savviness and consumer empathy
INTERNAL / EXTERNAL INTERFACE
- Internal - Engineering Design team, PRC, DQC, Product Development team, Tooling Teams, Advanced Development teams, Commercials.
- External - Marketing, SCM, Plants, End consumer
FUNCTIONAL COMPETENCIES
Technical skills:
- Expertise in Structural/Flow/Thermal simulations
- Proficiency with any of simulation tools like Ansys, Abaqus, Nastran, LS Dyna, Comsol
- Advance skills in high fidelity simulation modeling and approaches, Modeling of Isotropic/orthotropic/non linear materials, coupled simulations
- Strong expertise in converting simulation outcome into feasible design suggestions
Process skills:
- Proficiency in structured problem-solving and decision-making tools such as Six Sigma and 8D tools, RCA tools and techniques for design and field failure investigation
