Job Summary
The Transformer Radiator Maintenance Engineer is responsible for preventive and corrective maintenance of transformer radiators, cooling systems, and associated components. The role ensures productive heat dissipation, minimizes equipment downtime, and maintains compliance with safety and quality standards.
Qualifications
- Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- 6 years of experience in transformer manufacturing, maintenance, or power utilities (depending on the role level).
Key Responsibilities
- Inspect transformer radiators for oil leaks, corrosion, damage, and blockages.
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on transformer cooling systems.
- Repair or replace damaged radiator panels, valves, gaskets, and piping.
- Inspect and maintain cooling fans, oil pumps, temperature sensors, and control circuits.
- Conduct pressure testing, leak testing, and flushing of radiator systems.
- Monitor transformer oil levels and cooling performance.
- Coordinate transformer shutdowns and maintenance activities.
- Maintain maintenance records, inspection reports, and work orders.
- Ensure compliance with electrical safety procedures, lockout/tagout (LOTO), and permit-to-work systems.
- Troubleshoot overheating issues related to transformer cooling systems.
- Coordinate with production, quality, and utility teams during maintenance activities.
- Assist in commissioning and testing of new transformer radiator systems.
- Ensure spare parts availability and inventory management.
- Follow ISO, environmental, and safety
