Job Summary

We are seeking an elite, battle-tested Senior Investigative Journalist to lead high-stakes, data-driven investigations into the global and regional mining industries, corporate extraction policies, and environmental sustainability compliance. Operating remotely—with a strong preference for a Kerala-native professional who combines global reporting standards with deep local context—you will expose institutional wrongdoing, greenwashing, and systemic ecological violations. This role requires an established journalist with a background in top-tier media houses who is capable of turning technical environmental telemetry into front-page news.

Key Responsibilities

- Elite Tier-1 Investigations: Conceptualize, structure, and execute complex, long-form investigative projects into heavy industries, supply chain transparency, and illicit resource extraction.
- Technical & Geospatial Auditing: Deeply analyze technical Environmental Impact Assessments (EIAs), corporate balance sheets, satellite/GIS data, and global trade records to track supply chain anomalies.
- Advanced Source & Whistleblower Management: Cultivate, verify, and shield high-level institutional sources, whistleblowers, and field experts using rigid operational security protocols.
- Aggressive Public Records Extraction: Weaponize Right to Information (RTI) filings,



FOIA requests, and legal mechanisms to retrieve tightly guarded corporate and regulatory datasets.
- High-Impact Reporting: Author meticulously cross-referenced, bulletproof investigative features that withstand intense legal, corporate, and public scrutiny.

Requirements & Qualifications
- Top-Tier Media Background: 1-5+ years of dedicated experience operating within prestigious national or international media houses, newsrooms, or globally recognized investigative networks.
- Deep Investigative Track Record: A proven portfolio of breaking high-impact, front-page news investigations or major documentary-style exposes.
- Technical Literacy: Advanced capability in data extraction (Excel, SQL, or Python) and spatial analysis platforms (QGIS/ArcGIS). The ability to decode complex geological and hydrological datasets is mandatory.
- Language & Regional Expertise: Native fluency in Malayalam and English is highly preferred to effectively cross-examine regional public records and conduct on-ground verification networks within Kerala.
- Legal & Media Law Mastery: Flawless understanding of defamation, media law, and libel risks to ensure investigative content is legally ironclad prior to publication.
