Position: R&D; Head
Qualification: Ph.D. in Chemistry Experience: 15 25+ Years in Chemical R&D; / Product Development
Industry: Specialty Chemicals / Chemical Manufacturing Job Purpose Lead the R&D; function with strong emphasis on innovation, scientific thinking, new product development, process improvement, and commercialization of recent chemical products. Key Responsibilities Lead new product development (NPD) from concept, laboratory development, pilot trials, scale-up to commercial production.
Develop innovative chemical products based on market needs, customer requirements, and emerging technologies.
Encourage a strong "Think, Innovate & Develop" culture within the R&D; team.
Identify new chemistry, technologies, raw materials, and processes to create differentiated products.
Design and execute R&D; experiments, trials, and proof-of-concept studies.
Work closely with Production, Process Engineering, QC, QA, Procurement, and Commercial teams for successful product commercialization.
Optimize existing products and processes to improve quality, yield, cost, productivity, and sustainability.
Lead troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, and technical problem-solving for manufacturing issues.
Develop and maintain R&D; protocols, technical reports, specifications, SOPs,



and process documentation.
Support technology transfer, pilot plant trials, scale-up, and plant commissioning.
Monitor chemical industry trends, patents, technologies, and customer requirements to identify new business opportunities.
Build and mentor a high-performing R&D; team and promote scientific thinking, experimentation, and innovation.

Required Skills 15-20 Years Ph.D. in Chemistry / Chemical Sciences with strong research and industrial R&D; exposure.
Strong expertise in new product development and chemical synthesis.
Proven ability to convert laboratory concepts into commercially viable products.
Strong analytical, scientific thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
Experience in scale-up, process development, and technology transfer.
Strong leadership, innovation, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
