As an Automotive Plastic Design Engineer, you will be responsible for creating and developing high-quality 3D models and detailed engineering drawings for automotive plastic components. You will work on both interior and exterior applications, translating design requirements into manufacturable and production-ready components.
The role requires a solid understanding of automotive plastic design principles, surface and solid modelling, drafting, packaging requirements, and design feasibility. You will collaborate with engineering and cross-functional teams to ensure designs meet functional, aesthetic, quality, and manufacturing requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Design and develop automotive plastic components using CATIA V5 / 3DEXPERIENCE.
Create accurate 3D solid and surface models based on design and engineering requirements.
Prepare detailed 2D engineering drawings and manufacturing documentation.




Work on automotive interior and exterior plastic components throughout the design and development lifecycle.
Develop components such as instrument panels, consoles, door trims, pillar trims, bumpers, grilles, and other interior/exterior trims.
Apply automotive design standards and best practices to ensure components are functional, manufacturable, and production-ready.
Review designs for packaging, fitment, clearances, interfaces, and assembly requirements.
Coordinate with engineering, manufacturing, tooling, and other cross-functional teams to resolve design issues.
Incorporate design changes and engineering feedback while maintaining accuracy and design intent.
Support design reviews, validation activities, and issue resolution during product development.
Ensure models and drawings meet required quality, dimensional, and documentation standards.
Contribute to continuous improvement of design processes and engineering
