Job Title: Lead Database AdministratorLocation: Chennai, India (Onsite)- Embassy Splendid Tech Zone, Pallavaram.Employment Type: Full time (FTE)Domain: Financial Services / Banking & FinTechAbout the RoleWe are seeking a Lead Database Administrator to join our database engineering team, focusing on the design, optimization, and security of mission-critical database systems for a premier US-based Banking and FinTech platform.This role ensures high availability, top performance, and stringent security across multi-cloud and hybrid database infrastructures handling high-volume transactions.Key ResponsibilitiesDatabase Operations: Administer and optimize relational (SQL Server) and NoSQL (Cosmos DB/DynamoDB) environments across production and non-production setups.Performance Engineering: Monitor database performance, execute query optimization, index tuning, and proactively resolve bottlenecks.High Availability & DR: Design and maintain automated failover strategies, backup/recovery protocols, and disaster recovery strategies (RPO/RTO).Automation & IaC:



Partner with DevOps engineering to automate database deployments using Terraform/CloudFormation and CI/CD pipelines.Security & Compliance: Enforce data governance, encryption, and regulatory standards (PCI DSS, SOC 2).Key Requirements & QualificationsExperience: 10+ years of core Database Administration experience in regulated financial or high-volume enterprise environments.Core Technical Stack: Expertise in SQL Server and AWS database services (RDS, Aurora, Redshift).NoSQL & Cloud: Familiarity with NoSQL databases (Azure Cosmos DB, DynamoDB) and Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform, CloudFormation).Scripting: Proficient in Python, PowerShell, or Bash for operational automation.Monitoring: Hands-on experience with tools such as Datadog, CloudWatch, or Redgate.How to ApplyIf you are interested in this position or would like to learn more, please email your updated resume directly to [email protected] with the subject line:"Application: Lead DBA - [Your Name]"(Please include your current location, notice period, and CTC expectations in the email.)
