I am looking for one or two people to join me at Upaj Farm, Dumad, Vadodara.
About Upaj
Upaj is a 7-acre permaculture farm.
We grow seasonal fruits and vegetables using organic and ecological techniques.
We also run Rent-A-Farm — a hands-on seasonal programme where urban families learn to grow their own food, naturally.
We have also planted 10 Miyawaki style pocket forests in Vadodara in the last few years. We are now expanding this into Natural experiences with a guided Nature Trails in Vadodara.
What will you do?
? Plan and manage seasonal crops
? Work with families on Rent-A-Farm
? Conduct guided Nature Trails in Upvan
? Plant and maintain trees, crops and growing spaces
? Procure seeds and saplings
? Monitor soil, irrigation and plant health
♻️ Work with composting, natural pest management and water conservation
???? Conduct workshops and engage with visitors
? Observe, troubleshoot and solve everyday farm problems
? Maintain simple records and coordinate with suppliers
You will also be the guide and story teller for prebooked Nature trials walks.
You could be a good fit if...
You have a B.Sc. / M.Sc. in Agriculture, Horticulture, Botany, Forestry, Environmental Science or a related field.
You should:
Speak English and Gujarati comfortably
Enjoy working outdoors
Be comfortable with physical farm work
Have a good understanding of plants and soil
Be curious about ecology and sustainable farming
Enjoy talking to children, families and visitors
Be observant and good at solving problems
Be willing to learn
Prior farming, gardening or urban ecology experience is a plus.
But more than anything, I am looking for someone who is curious, energetic and genuinely enjoys being around plants and people.
This is a full time, on-site role.
