Position Summary:
As the Corporate Logistics/Trade Compliance Manager, you will influence the sourcing and management of global logistics partners for the company. You will negotiate rates and agreements for both domestic and international freight requirements, both inbound and outbound transportation of complex mechanical equipment and systems. You will be responsible for product and equipment specific trade compliance concerns and ensure the company is complying with all international government trade regulations. You will manage shipment tracking and visibility across the organization, ensuring internal and external stakeholders can access shipment information when needed.
Principal Activities:
You will:
· Keep informed and current on changing trade regulations, tariffs, countries of concern, and sanctions; comply with due diligence and screening when sourcing logistical suppliers
· Evaluate trade compliance risks, and ensure the company is adhering to domestic and international regulations, and license requirements
· Work with freight forwarders on international shipping loads,
to quote, book, and manage to delivery, as required
· Manage the Duty Drawback Initiatives, all sections and types. Obtain accelerated reimbursements where possible
· Work with suppliers, company personnel, and customers to ensure proper packaging/crating requirements, as needed
· Contribute to sourcing of OTR domestic freight needs, partners, and capacity to ensure best value for the services are obtained, and shipping budgets are maintained
· Work with other department personnel to keep accurate Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS) and Export Control Classification Number (ECCN) code data for each component shipped, and work with our Customs Broker to apply correct codes
· Obtain and provide shipping quotes to internal personnel, as requested
· Support internal proposals team to review quotes and provide recommendations for appropriate INCOTERMS and establish initial freight budget for quo
