The Payroll Expert is responsible for supporting end-to-end payroll operations and supporting payroll delivery for Sandoz India ensuring accurate, compliant and timely delivery while maintaining compliance with local legislation, company policies and internal controls.
The role works closely with internal stakeholders and payroll vendors to deliver a high-quality employee payroll experience. The role requires robust analytical capability, ownership and a continuous improvement mindset.

Key Responsibilities
Payroll Operations & Governance
- Support end-to-end payroll processing activities for India across monthly, quarterly and annual payroll cycles.
- Validate payroll inputs including attendance, leave, benefits,
variable pay, overtime, recoveries and statutory deductions.
- Perform payroll quality checks, reconciliations and variance analysis for payroll accuracy.
- Investigate payroll discrepancies and coordinate timely resolution with relevant stakeholders.
- Maintain payroll records and supporting documentation in line with internal controls.
Payroll Statutory & Compliance Management
- Support compliance with Indian statutory requirements including Income Tax, PF, ESI, Professional Tax, Labour Welfare Fund and other applicable regulations.
- Assist in year-end payroll activities including Form 16 generation, tax reconciliations and statutory reporting.
- Maintain audit-ready documentation and support payroll audits.
- Ensure payroll activities are processed in alignment with company policies and compliance requirements.
Stakeholder & Vendor Management
- Act as a point of contact for payroll-rel
