Project Manager Role Summary We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead cross-functional programs involvingsuperconducting materials, magnet systems, and cryogenic technologies. The ideal candidate willdrive projects from concept through prototyping, testing, and deployment — coordinating tightlywith materials science, cryogenics, electrical engineering, and quality teams to deliversuperconducting magnets, wire/tape, or systems on time, within budget, and to performance specifications. Key Responsibilities• Own end-to-end planning and execution of superconductor programs, including magnet/coildevelopment, wire and tape production, cryostat integration, and system-level testing.• Develop and maintain integrated project schedules, critical path analysis, and resource plans.• Coordinate with R&D;, process, and reliability engineering teams to track technical milestonessuch as material qualification, coil winding, cooldown/quench testing, and field-performancevalidation.• Manage project budgets, capital expenditure (Cap Ex) tracking,



and vendor/tooling procurementtimelines in partnership with finance and procurement, including specialty cryogenic equipment.• Identify, track, and mitigate risks related to quench events, material performance, supply of rare materials and schedule slippage; escalate issues with explicit recovery plans.• Drive stakeholder communication through regular program reviews, status reports, andexecutive dashboards (e.g., using Zoho, MS Project, Smartsheet, or Jira).• Facilitate change control and cross-site/cross-lab coordination for multi-partner or multi-vendorprograms, including academic and national-lab collaborations where applicable.• Partner with customers, research institutions, and/or component suppliers on programtimelines, qualification requirements, and delivery commitments.• Lead post-project reviews and drive continuous improvement in project management processes,tools, and templates.
