EDUCATION

PhD in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering and Aerospace Engineering or
related field

EXPERIENCE:

* Experience in the development and implementation of finite element analysis
(FEA) software, user subroutines for commercial FEA packages, and numerical
material models is highly desirable.
* Proficiency in Fortran, C/C++, Python, and scripting languages is preferred.
* Experience with MSC Nastran, Marc, or other commercial finite element
analysis software is preferred.
* Experience in the research and development of nonlinear solid mechanics
analysis, including geometric nonlinearity, contact mechanics, and nonlinear
material behavior, is preferred.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Strong programming skills in Fortran and C/C++. Working knowledge of Linux shell
scripting and Python. Solid understanding of nonlinear mechanics and numerical
methods. Knowledge of contact mechanics and contact algorithms. Understanding of




large deformation and large rotation formulations. Strong engineering analysis
and problem-solving skills. Effective written and verbal communication skills in
English. Experience in finite element software development in two or more of the
following areas is highly desirable:

* Contact mechanics
* Large deformation and large rotation
* Finite element formulation and element development
* Fluid-Structure Interaction (FSI)
* Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD)
* Heat transfer
* Fracture and failure mechanics
* Solution algorithms and numerical methods
* Electrical and electromagnetic analysis
* Acoustics
* Geometry modeling and NURBS technologies

Ability to develop, evaluate, review, and maintain engineering software code;
perform quality assurance (QA), benchmarking, and validation; and apply sound
engineering judgment. Experience with software regression testing and QA
