A DAY IN THE LIFE

The Medtronic Engineering and Innovation Center (MEIC) supports global
engineering, operations, and supply chain initiatives across Medtronic
businesses. Within the Global Operations and Supply Chain (GOSC) organization,
this role contributes to supplier transfer, localization, vertical integration,
and cost optimization programs that strengthen supply chain performance and
deliver sustainable business value.
The position partners with global suppliers and cross-functional teams including
engineering, sourcing, manufacturing, quality, and operations to identify,
evaluate,



and execute strategic cost reduction and supplier management
initiatives. The role also supports ideas evaluation, strategic planning for
cost reduction programs, engineering documentation, remediation,
manufacturability improvements, and engineering change management activities
across product portfolios.
This position is based in Hyderabad, India and follows a Flex work model. No
travel is expected for this role.

The Senior Mechanical Design Engineer is responsible for leading medium to high
complexity supplier transfer and cost optimization initiatives through
engineering analysis, supplier collaboration, and cross-functional execution.
The role combines mechanical engineering expertise, manufacturing knowledge,
financial assessment, and supplier engagement to deliver cost savings, supply
chain resiliency, and product sustainment outcomes while maintaining compliance
with applicable engineering and quality requirement
