Job Role – Excavator Operator

Key Responsibilities
• Operate excavators, wheel loaders, dumpers, skid steer machines, and other heavy plant machinery safely and efficiently.
• Carry out excavation, trenching, grading, site preparation, and earth-moving activities.
• Perform road construction and infrastructure works according to project specifications.
• Support quarry operations, including loading, moving, and transporting materials.
• Conduct daily inspections and basic maintenance of machinery to ensure proper functionality.
• Report any mechanical faults or equipment issues immediately.
• Follow instructions from site supervisors and coordinate with other team members to meet project deadlines.
• Adhere to all health and safety regulations and company procedures.
• Prepare, lift, and transport tools, equipment, and materials as required.
• Assist with manual work and general site duties when necessary.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the worksite.
• Perform any other ancillary duties assigned by management.
Requirements
• Minimum 5 years of proven experience operating excavators in quarry, road construction, excavation, or civil engineering projects.
• Experience operating wheel loaders is mandatory.
• Experience operating other heavy machinery such as dumpers and skid steer loaders is an advantage.
• Valid heavy equipment operating licence/certification (where applicable).
• Good understanding of excavation techniques, road construction activities, and site safety procedures.
• Basic mechanical knowledge and ability to perform daily equipment checks.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Physically fit and willing to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to workplace safety.
