Role Descriptions: Core Responsibilities:Configuration & Implementation: Setting up routers| switches| and related devices (like firewalls) for new solutions and network upgrades| defining standards| and managing IP addresses.Monitoring & Troubleshooting: Proactively monitoring network health| diagnosing and resolving complex issues (outages| congestion) within LAN/WAN| and performing root cause analysis for failures.Performance Optimization: Analyzing network performance| identifying bottlenecks| ensuring productive data flow| and planning capacity for future growth (scalability).Security Management: Implementing and maintaining security policies| managing firewall rules| and ensuring network access control.Documentation & Reporting:



Maintaining accurate network documentation| standard operating procedures (SOPs)| and reporting on network status.Collaboration: Working with other IT teams| architects| and vendors for support| planning| and large-scale projects. Switching (Within a Network):Handles data flow between devices (computers| printers) on the same LAN.Uses MAC addresses to forward data frames efficiently. Routing (Between Networks):Connects different networks (LANs to the internet| WANs).Uses IP addresses and routing tables to find the best path for data packets. In essence| network operators are the guardians of connectivity| ensuring data moves reliably| securely| and efficiently from device to device| network to network| to keep organizations running.
