The Reference Data Management (RDM) / Information & Data Management ( IDM) department is responsible for master data management and

MI production across MUFG Securities AMERICAS. The mandate for the department is to:

- Develop a business led, technology enabled data strategy and roadmap for delivery of data management target state
- Develop a data governance framework and establish data related policies and procedures to improve the value of data as an enterprise asset
- Source, validate and maintain master data repositories of market and reference data
- Agree data quality standards with business owners and track metrics and continuously improve data processes
- Investigate and analyse data issues, identify the root cause and recommend control improvements
- Develop and support an MI platform optimised for the aggregation of data and the reporting of processed and analysed information
- Deliver accurate, timely and insightful MI to the international business to support executive decision making and to meet statutory and regulatory reporting requirements.

Key Responsibilities:





- Establishing and developing the Reference Data Management teams and its participation in the Firms Business strategy including setting objectives budgets and business plans and managing costs within these Departments.
- Leading, directing, controlling and managing the staff within the Reference Data Management department to ensure that they (i) understand their responsibilities and duties applicable to their roles, (ii) comply with the Firms policies and procedures and (iii) conduct themselves in a way which is commensurate with the Firms values.
- Talent management to include recruitment, retention and development of staff to ensure individual and team performance in line with stakeholder expectations.
- Maintaining and enhancing good working relationships with stakeholders, including business and control / infrastructure teams, auditors, regulators, local management and staff of the IDM function globally.
- Leading projects and system enhancements as required, ensuring effective control and continuous process improvement.
- Develop the skills and abilities of all team members, resulting in optimization of job performance for local talent.
- Identification, escalation and resolution of issues regarding the department and related activities.
- Ensure adherence to Finance Policies and Procedures and that said documents are updated in accordance with review schedules and remain relevant in the context of business/market events.
- Ensure adherence to relevant regulatory requirements and accounting standards.
- Documentation of control activities and methodologies undertaken in respect of the above responsibilities to a standard, sufficient to ensure handover of tasks and auditability of results and including the management of operational risks.
- Conducting analysis in support of the Finance function, whether through additional ad hoc tasks or presentation of written materials. and
- Support all lines of business for reference data management (Market, Counterparty, Instrument and Organizational Data)
- Review and analyze referential data information from golden source (i.e. EDM) to downstream systems (i.e. Murex, Impact, Raptor & AMS), evaluate the accuracy of the information and feeds, and propose and implement enhancements as required.
- Maintain and enhance the data lifecycle to ensure data accuracy and completeness of information used in reporting.



The VP will also be responsible for the develop robust controls and key risk indicators for all data that is stewarded by RDM.
- Develop robust procedures related to data set up and distribution
- Maintain close working relationships with Front Office, Operations, Risk, Audit, Compliance and Regulatory departments to ensure needs and regulations are met Expectations
- Conduct yourself at all times in a way which is commensurate with the Firms values and ensure that the needs of the Firms clients and the integrity of the market are placed at the heart of the carrying out of your duties and ensure all staff under your responsibility are conducting themselves as industry professionals and in accordance with policy guidelines.
- Take reasonable measures to remain aware of key market and regulatory developments and, where necessary, attend training in this regard.
- Comply with, ensure that all staff under your responsibility (where applicable) comply with, the Companys policies and procedures as well as all rules, laws and regulatory requirements emanating from any of the regulatory authorities to which the Firm is subject. and
- Carry out management responsibilities (where applicable) in accordance with the Companys policies and procedures ensuring that all staff are fully trained and understand what is required of them in order to do their jobs effectively. This includes, but is not necessarily limited to, the following: providing job descriptions and setting objectives/personal development plans for, and performing performance appraisals of, staff at least twice a year, handling appropriately any grievance or disciplinary issues, liaising with the Human Resources Department where appropriate.

Skills and Experience:

- A minimum of 2:1 (or equivalent) in a Bachelors degree
- Strong Microsoft Office skills (Excel beneficial)
- Practical / working knowledge of counterparty / Instrument / Market data set up across client onboarding and offboarding, account set up, SSI, Master Creation, Benchmark Maintenance etc.
- Desirable system experience. Murex, Markit EDM, Bloomberg, Gloss, DTCC Alert,
- Experience of working with stakeholders at various levels
