Full-time with Samay India⏱ Looking for candidates who can join within 30 daysAbout the RoleWe're looking for a hands-on Java Backend Engineer to join our squad as an L2 Support Engineer (70% Support / 30% Development), focused on supporting, maintaining, and enhancing integrations with Oracle Retail Cloud MFCS.The ideal candidate has a strong development background paired with production support experience — comfortable troubleshooting across multiple services, identifying root causes, implementing permanent fixes, and collaborating with senior engineers when deeper escalation is needed.This role suits someone who understands how backend services communicate across systems and can debug production issues while still contributing to ongoing development and improvements.What You'll DoBuild strong understanding of Oracle Retail Cloud MFCS — its APIs, integration points, and upstream/downstream servicesMonitor, troubleshoot, and support integrations with Oracle Retail Cloud MFCS and related backend servicesAnalyze logs, DB queries, API responses, and Kafka events to identify and resolve production issuesPinpoint whether issues originate in the application, database, integration layer, or an external systemLead production incident resolution, perform root cause analysis,



and implement permanent fixesMaintain and enhance Java/Spring Boot applications — bug fixes, enhancements, performance tuningWrite and maintain unit/integration tests, and contribute to broader testing strategyFollow engineering best practices: code reviews, monitoring, documentationPartner with L3/Lead engineers on deeper technical or architectural issuesParticipate in on-call support, ensuring issues are tracked and escalated appropriatelyWhat You'll Bring3–5 years of experience in Java backend development and/or production supportStrong hands-on experience with Java and Spring BootSolid understanding of REST APIs, service-to-service communication, and distributed systemsStrong SQL and relational database knowledgeProven experience debugging and resolving production issuesComfort with logs, monitoring, and root cause analysisFamiliarity with integration patterns and cross-service troubleshootingKafka experience is a plusExposure to cloud platforms and DevOps practices is a plusSolid grasp of unit and integration testing practicesAbility to work independently on L2 issues, with valuable judgment on when to escalateWhat Sets This Role ApartWe're looking for someone who doesn't just close tickets — but understands why an issue happened and how to prevent it from recurring.?
