Role & responsibilities
The role involves vendor development, cost negotiation, purchase planning, supplier performance management, inventory coordination, and ensuring procurement is aligned with quality, cost, and delivery requirements.
Develop and implement procurement strategies in line with production and business requirements.
Plan and purchase raw materials like (MS, SS, CRCA, Copper, Aluminium, Sheet metal Components).
Review purchase requisitions and coordinate with Production, Planning, Stores, Quality, Maintenance, Finance, and other departments
Monitor supplier deliveries and ensure materials are received within required timelines
Develop alternate/local suppliers to reduce dependency and supply-chain risks
Analyze purchase costs and identify prospects for cost reduction and value improvement.
Maintain proper purchase records, vendor documentation, quotations, comparative statements,



and purchase orders
Support current product development by identifying suitable suppliers and obtaining samples, quotations, and technical/commercial information.
Lead and mentor the purchase/procurement team entirely.

Preferred candidate profile
9 to 14 years of relevant procurement experience, preferably in a manufacturing workplace.
Good understanding of commercial terms, purchase documentation, and supplier contracts.
A postgraduate qualification such as MBA/PGDM in Supply Chain, Procurement, or Operations is an advantage.
Well versed in SAP - MM
Experience in direct and indirect procurement within a manufacturing/industrial environment will be preferred.
