A Mechanical Quality Engineer develops and implements quality control processes for mechanical parts, assemblies, and manufacturing workflows. They conduct root-cause analyses for defects, perform dimensional inspections, and ensure products comply with industry standards. [1, 2]Key Responsibilities
Quality Assurance &
Control:
Design inspection criteria and evaluate machined parts, sheet metal components, and mechanical assemblies using measurement tools (e.g., Vernier Calipers, Micrometers, CMM). [1]
Defect Analysis &
Resolution:
Investigate root causes for failures using structured problem-solving frameworks like 8D, 5 Whys, and Fishbone Diagrams. [1, 2]
Compliance &
Auditing:
Enforce Quality Management Systems (QMS) such as ISO 9001, AS9100, and IATF 16949 through internal and external audits. [1, 2]
Documentation: Manage non-conformance reports (NCR), Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA), Bill of Materials (BOMs),
and First Article Inspection (FAI) reports. [1, 2]
Cross-functional Collaboration: Partner with design, production, and supply chain teams to integrate quality checks into Recent Product Development (NPD). [1, 2]
Requirements &
Skills
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Industrial Engineering.
Technical Knowledge: Proficiency in reading engineering drawings, General Assembly (GA) documents, and GD&T; (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing).
Certifications: Six Sigma Green/Black Belt or ASQ (American Society for Quality) certifications are highly preferred.
Software Skills: Familiarity with CAD/CAE tools, MS Office, and statistical analysis programs (e.g., Minitab)
Pay: ₹15,000.00 - ₹25,000.00 per month
