Role & responsibilities
Source and procure APIs, excipients, intermediates, reference standards, and specialty materials for Research & Development requirements.
Identify, evaluate, and coordinate with suppliers for quality, cost, lead time, and availability.
Handle purchase orders, quotations, negotiations, and follow-ups with suppliers.
Coordinate with Research & Development, Quality Assurance, Regulatory, Stores, and Finance for timely procurement and material availability.
Ensure availability of required COA, SDS, GMP declarations, DMF/CEP references, and other supplier documents.
Support new supplier identification, qualification, and documentation in coordination with Quality Assurance.
Monitor delivery schedules and proactively resolve delays, shortages, and supplier-related issues.
Maintain appropriate Research & Development inventory levels and support urgent/critical material requirements.
Maintain procurement records and update transactions in ERP/P2P systems.
Support supplier performance monitoring, cost-saving initiatives, and alternate vendor development.
Assist in handling supplier changes, quality issues, and related documentation.
Ensure procurement activities comply with applicable GMP/GDP and company procedures.
Skills & Competencies
Robust vendor management and negotiation skills.
Good knowledge of pharmaceutical raw materials and procurement processes.
Positive communication and coordination skills.
Proficiency in MS Excel and ERP/P2P systems.
Good follow-up, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
Ability to manage multiple requirements and urgent procurement activities.
Solid attention to detail and documentation.
