Responsible for developing, evaluating, and managing vendors to ensure timely supply of quality materials/components at competitive prices while maintaining company standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Identify and develop recent vendors based on company requirements.
Evaluate vendors based on quality, cost, delivery, capacity, and reliability.
Coordinate with vendors for quotations, price negotiations, and commercial terms.
Follow up with vendors to ensure timely delivery of materials.
Monitor vendor performance and take corrective actions when required.
Coordinate with Purchase, Quality, Production, and Engineering teams for vendor-related issues.
Conduct vendor visits/audits and support vendor improvement activities.
Develop alternate sources to avoid supply interruptions.
Maintain vendor records, quotations, evaluation reports, and performance data.
Support cost-reduction and localization initiatives.
Resolve quality and delivery issues with vendors.
Ensure vendors comply with company specifications and quality requirements.
Required Skills:
Good knowledge of vendor development, procurement, and supply chain processes.
Knowledge of machining, fabrication, sheet metal, casting/forging or engineering components will be an advantage.
Good negotiation and communication skills.
Ability to read engineering drawings and understand technical specifications.
Knowledge of ERP/SAP and MS Excel.
Strong follow-up and problem-solving skills.
Qualification: Diploma / BE / B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical or relevant engineering discipline.
Experience:
Typically 2–10 years of experience in Vendor Development .
Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹30,000.00 per month
