Job Description - Consultant Radiologist

Position: Consultant Radiologist
Department: Radiology
Location: Naruvi Hospitals, Vellore

About the Role

Key Responsibilities
Interpret and report a wide range of diagnostic imaging studies, including:
X-ray
Ultrasound
CT Scan
MRI
Doppler studies
Mammography (preferred)
Perform and supervise image-guided diagnostic and interventional procedures as per competency.
Ensure timely, accurate, and clinically relevant radiology reports.
Collaborate with referring physicians and multidisciplinary clinical teams to discuss imaging findings and patient management.
Maintain high standards of quality, patient safety, and radiation protection.
Participate in departmental quality improvement initiatives, clinical audits, and accreditation activities.
Supervise and guide radiographers, technicians, and junior medical staff where applicable.
Maintain accurate documentation and adhere to hospital protocols and regulatory guidelines.
Participate in departmental meetings, CMEs,



and continuing career development activities.

Qualifications:
MD/DNB in Radiodiagnosis (or equivalent qualification recognized by the National Medical Commission).
Valid Medical Council registration.
Fellowship or additional certification in a subspecialty is desirable but not mandatory.

Experience
Minimum: 1 year
Maximum: 5 years
Experience in reporting cross-sectional imaging (CT and MRI) is preferred.

Skills & Competencies
Strong diagnostic and reporting skills.
Proficiency in CT, MRI, Ultrasound, X-ray, and Doppler imaging.
Sound clinical judgment and attention to detail.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary healthcare setting.
Commitment to ethical medical practice and patient-centred care.

Shift Pattern: Rotational shifts
Working Hours: 9 hours per day
