Position

Billing Manager

Experience

8 to 10 years, with at least 4 years of hands-on experience in billing and invoicing.

Qualification

- Bachelor's degree in Commerce (B.Com) or equivalent.
- CA Inter / CMA Inter / MBA (Finance) preferred.

Key Responsibilities

- Manage the end-to-end billing process, ensuring timely and accurate generation of customer invoices.
- Review customer purchase orders, contracts, and Statements of Work (SOWs) to ensure billing is in line with agreed commercial terms.
- Verify billing data, pricing, taxes, discounts, and supporting documentation before invoice generation.
- Ensure compliance with GST regulations, e-invoicing, e-way bill requirements, TDS implications, SEZ billing, exports, and other applicable statutory requirements.
- Coordinate with Sales, Operations, Project Managers, and Finance teams to resolve billing-related issues and ensure timely invoicing.
- Monitor unbilled revenue and ensure timely conversion into invoices.
- Handle credit notes, debit notes, billing adjustments, cancellations, and customer queries.
- Reconcile billing records with revenue and accounts receivable to ensure completeness and accuracy.
- Support month-end and year-end closing activities related to billing.




- Maintain proper documentation and ensure compliance with internal controls and audit requirements.
- Assist internal and statutory auditors by providing billing-related schedules and supporting documents.
- Prepare MIS reports on billing, pending invoices, ageing, and revenue trends.
- Identify opportunities to automate and improve billing processes.

Required Skills

- Strong knowledge of GST, including tax invoices, e-invoicing, e-way bills, reverse charge mechanism, SEZ transactions, exports, and applicable compliance requirements.
- Positive understanding of accounting principles and revenue recognition.
- Robust knowledge of billing processes for products and services.
- Familiarity with purchase orders, contracts, milestone billing, recurring billing, AMC billing, and project-based billing.
- Experience working with ERP systems such as SAP and NetSuite.

Preferred Experience

- Experience in an IT/System Integration/Technology services organization.
- Exposure to high-volume billing and customer invoicing.
- Experience in handling audits and statutory compliance.
- Knowledge of TDS, Income Tax provisions applicable to billing, and other indirect tax requirements will be an added advantage.
