Job Description – Civil Litigation Associate (City Civil and Session Court & Bombay High Court)

Position: Associate / Junior Associate – Civil Litigation

Location: Mumbai (City Civil and Session Court & Bombay High Court)

Experience: 1–5 years (mention exact range for your requirement)

About the Role: -

We are looking for a litigation associate to independently handle and assist in civil matters before the City Civil and Session Court and the Bombay High Court. The role requires solid drafting skills, court appearance experience, and the ability to manage case files end-to-end.

Key Responsibilities: -
- Draft plaints, written statements, applications (interim relief, injunctions, execution), affidavits, and rejoinders.
- Conduct legal research and prepare case briefs, synopses, and written submissions.
- Liaise with clients to gather instructions and update them on case progress.
- Coordinate with court clerks, process servers, and opposing counsel for filings, service, and listing.




- Track cause lists and case status; ensure timely compliance with court orders and deadlines.
- Maintain organized case files, both physical and digital.
- Handle matters relating to civil disputes, property, recovery of money, injunctions, and related commercial litigation.

Required Skills & Qualifications: -
- LL.B. from a recognized university; enrolled with the Bar Council.
- Prior experience in civil litigation before city civil and session courts is preferred.
- Familiarity with Civil and Session Court and Bombay High Court procedures, e-filing, and Original Side/Appellate Side practice is an advantage.
- Strong drafting and legal research skills.
- Good command over English (for client interaction and court proceedings).
- Working knowledge of CPC, Evidence Act, Limitation Act, and relevant civil laws.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple matters simultaneously.
