Roles & Responsibilities Fitter

Primary Responsibilities

- Assemble, install, align, and fit mechanical equipment, machinery, structures, and components as per engineering drawings.
- Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, GA drawings, assembly drawings, and work instructions.
- Perform fitting, drilling, tapping, reaming, cutting, grinding, filing, and finishing operations.
- Measure and mark dimensions using precision measuring instruments.
- Install bearings, shafts, couplings, gears, pulleys, belts, valves, and mechanical assemblies.
- Carry out machine erection, dismantling, and commissioning activities.
- Perform preventive, predictive, and breakdown maintenance of machinery.
- Repair defective mechanical components and replace damaged parts.
- Align rotating equipment using precision alignment methods.
- Assist in hydraulic and pneumatic system installation and maintenance.
- Perform pipe fitting and structural fitting work whenever required.
- Ensure proper torque tightening of bolts and fasteners.
- Conduct inspection of fitted components before final assembly.
- Operate hand tools, power tools, drilling machines, grinders,



and other workshop equipment.
- Coordinate with welders, electricians, machinists, and production teams.
- Maintain daily work reports and maintenance records.
- Ensure compliance with production schedules and quality requirements.
- Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition.
- Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) during all fitting activities.
- Ensure proper housekeeping and workplace cleanliness (5S).
- Wear appropriate PPE and comply with all safety regulations.
- Report unsafe conditions, machine abnormalities, and equipment failures immediately.
- Support continuous improvement, Kaizen, Lean Manufacturing, and TPM initiatives.
- Perform any additional duties assigned by the Supervisor or Production Manager.

Roles & Responsibilities Welder

Primary Responsibilities

- Perform Arc, TIG, MIG, and Laser welding as per engineering drawings and welding procedures.
- Read and interpret welding symbols, fabrication drawings, and technical specifications.
- Prepare metal surfaces by cutting, grinding, beveling, and cleaning before welding.
- Fabricate structural components, machine frames, supports, tanks, ducts, and fabricated assemblies.
- Select appropriate welding processes, electrodes, filler rods, shielding gases, and consumables.
- Produce high-quality welds with proper penetration and finish.
- Perform tack welding, root pass, filler pass, and final welding operations.
- Carry out welding in flat, horizontal, vertical, and overhead positions.
- Weld Mild Steel (MS), Stainless Steel (SS), Alloy Steel, and other materials as required.
- Inspect welded joints for cracks, porosity, undercut, distortion, and other defects.
- Perform grinding, polishing, and finishing after welding.




- Repair defective welds and carry out rework whenever necessary.
- Operate welding machines, gas cutting equipment, plasma cutters, and grinding machines safely.
- Maintain welding equipment and report any defects or malfunctions.
- Ensure compliance with Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS) and quality standards.
- Verify dimensions and alignment before and after welding.
- Follow production schedules to achieve daily targets.
- Minimize material wastage and optimize welding consumables.
- Maintain welding records and job completion reports.
- Follow hot work permit procedures and fire safety guidelines.
- Wear all required PPE, including welding helmet, gloves, apron, safety shoes, and face shield.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area in accordance with 5S practices.
- Coordinate with Fitters, Engineers, Quality Inspectors, and Production Supervisors.
- Participate in continuous improvement, Lean Manufacturing, TPM, and Kaizen activities.
- Report safety hazards, near misses, equipment failures, and quality issues immediately.
- Perform any other duties assigned by the Supervisor or Production Manager.
