Who are we looking for
Orbit & Skyline is looking forward to onboarding a highly skilled “Robotics Engineer - Motion Planning & Controls” with 4-8 years of experience in motion planning, robot controls, ROS/ROS2, trajectory optimization, robot simulation and industrial robotics, capable of delivering high-performance, secure, and reliable motion solutions for collaborative robotic applications.
Roles And Responsibilities
- Develop and optimize trajectory generation and motion planning algorithms.
- Design and tune robot control systems for precise motion and path tracking.
- Implement collision avoidance, obstacle detection, and safety-aware motion planning.
- Develop and validate kinematic and dynamic robot models.
- Optimize cycle time, path efficiency, and motion smoothness.
- Integrate robot motion with vision systems, force sensing, and external devices.
- Troubleshoot motion accuracy, vibration, overshoot, and stability issues.
- Perform robotic simulation, offline programming, testing, and commissioning robotic systems.
- Utilize simulation platforms to validate reachability, collision detection, cycle time, robot-cell layouts, and motion feasibility.
- Develop, maintain,
and validate digital twins and simulation models to evaluate robot performance before deployment.
- Support compliance with ISO 10218 and ISO/TS 15066 for collaborative robots.
- Generate technical documentation, test reports, and performance metrics.
Required Qualification:
- 3-8+ years in robotics, motion control, or autonomous systems. - Bachelor's/Master's in Robotics, Mechatronics, Mechanical, Electrical, or Control Engineering. - Hands-on experience with UR, ABB, FANUC, KUKA, Omron, or similar industrial robots.

Control Control Systems
- PID Control - Model-Based Control - State-Space Control - Impedance & Admittance Control - Force/Motion Control - Servo Tuning
Algorithms
- A*, RRT / RRT*, PRM, Trajectory Optimization, MPC, Sensor Fusion
Programming & Software
- C++ (strongly preferred), Python, MATLAB/Simulink, ROS/ROS2, MoveIt2 - OpenCV (preferred)
Simulation & Tools
- Rviz, Gazebo, MATLAB Simulation, RoboDK, Isaac Sim (preferred).
