Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced SAP Basis Consultant with a strong ABAP administration background to manage and support enterprise SAP landscapes. The ideal candidate will have extensive hands-on experience in administering traditional SAP ABAP systems, including SAP ECC and SAP S/4HANA environments. This role is focused on system administration, transport management, performance optimization, installations, upgrades, patching, troubleshooting, and ensuring the stability, availability, and security of SAP systems.

Key Responsibilities

- Install, configure, upgrade, and maintain SAP ABAP-based systems, including SAP ECC and SAP S/4HANA.
- Perform SAP kernel upgrades, Support Package Stack (SPS) implementations, and system refresh activities.
- Execute homogeneous and heterogeneous system copies and migrations.
- Manage SAP Transport Management System (TMS) and coordinate transports across Development, QA, and Production environments.
- Monitor and optimize SAP system performance using SAP administration tools and transactions such as ST03N, ST04, SM50, SM66, SM21, ST22, DBACOCKPIT, and RZ20.
- Administer SAP users, roles, authorizations, profiles, and client management activities.
- Analyze and resolve system issues related to work processes, update failures, background jobs, spool management, RFC connectivity, and system availability.
- Perform SAP system health checks, capacity planning, and proactive performance tuning.
- Administer SAP HANA databases, including backup, recovery, monitoring, and database performance optimization.
- Plan and execute SAP installations, upgrades, Unicode conversions, and release migrations.
- Implement backup, disaster recovery, high availability, and business continuity procedures.




- Coordinate with ABAP developers during code deployments and production releases.
- Provide L2/L3 production support, root cause analysis, and incident resolution.
- Maintain technical documentation, SOPs, and system administration records.

Required Skills

- 10+ years of hands-on SAP Basis Administration experience.
- Solid experience administering SAP ECC and SAP S/4HANA ABAP environments.
- In-depth knowledge of SAP NetWeaver ABAP architecture and administration.
- Strong expertise in SAP Transport Management System (TMS) and change management.
- Experience with SAP HANA database administration.
- Hands-on experience with SAP system installations, upgrades, kernel patching, and migrations.
- Strong troubleshooting skills across SAP application, database, and operating system layers.
- Experience with Linux and Windows server administration.
- Knowledge of SAP monitoring and performance analysis tools.
- Familiarity with backup, recovery, disaster recovery, and high availability configurations.
- Basic scripting knowledge (Shell, PowerShell, or Python) is an advantage.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

- SAP Certified Technology Associate – SAP System Administration (or equivalent SAP Basis certification).
- Experience supporting large-scale enterprise SAP landscapes.
- Exposure to SAP Solution Manager, SAP Focused Run, or SAP Cloud ALM.
- Familiarity with cloud-hosted SAP environments (AWS, Azure, or GCP) is a plus.
