Key Responsibilities
- Build and customize Shopify themes using Liquid, HTML, CSS/SCSS, and JavaScript, including Online Store 2.0 sections and blocks.
- Develop custom features and storefront functionality (custom product options, bundles, subscriptions, quizzes, filters, etc.).
- Work with Shopify's Storefront API, Admin API, and webhooks for custom integrations and headless/hybrid setups where needed.
- Optimize site speed and Core Web Vitals (image optimization, lazy loading, script/app audit, theme performance).
- Ensure cross-browser and mobile responsiveness across all storefront pages.
- Troubleshoot and fix bugs on a live store with mínimal downtime, especially around high-traffic periods (sales, launches, holidays).
- Collaborate with design, marketing, and merchandising teams to implement landing pages, campaign pages, and promotional features.
- Maintain code quality via version control (Git), staging/production workflows, and basic testing before deployment.
- Monitor app conflicts, script load impact, and checkout/cart functionality to avoid revenue-impacting issues.





Must-Have Requirements
- 2+ years of hands-on experience developing/customizing live Shopify stores (agency or in-house, not personal projects only).
- Robust proficiency in Liquid templating, along with HTML5, CSS3/SCSS, and JavaScript (ES6+).
- Experience with Online Store 2.0 architecture — JSON templates, sections, blocks, metafields.
- Working knowledge of Shopify's Admin API, Storefront API, and webhooks for custom integrations.
- Experience installing, configuring, and troubleshooting Shopify apps and their conflicts with theme code.
- Familiarity with Shopify CLI, GitHub/Git-based deployment workflows, and theme version control.
- Understanding of site performance optimization specific to Shopify (Lighthouse scores, Core Web Vitals, lazy loading, render-blocking scripts).
- Experience building/maintaining a store for a US-based brand or client — familiarity with US payment gateway
