Automobile Engineer
Job Summary
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and supervise preventive and breakdown maintenance of buses, cranes, forklifts, loaders, and four-wheel vehicles.
- Diagnose and resolve mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and engine-related issues.
- Schedule routine servicing and inspections to minimize equipment downtime.
- Coordinate with operators, technicians, and vendors for repairs and spare parts procurement.
- Monitor fuel consumption, maintenance costs, and vehicle performance.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and manufacturer maintenance guidelines.
- Maintain service records, maintenance logs, and inspection reports.
- Conduct root cause analysis for recurring equipment failures and implement corrective actions.
- Support equipment commissioning, testing, and performance evaluation.
- Ensure all fleet vehicles meet statutory and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Automobile Engineering or Mechanical Engineering.
- 2-8 years of experience in fleet maintenance, heavy equipment,
or commercial vehicle operations.
- Experience with buses, cranes, forklifts, loaders, and other heavy or light commercial vehicles is preferred.
Required Skills:
- Solid knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, transmissions, braking systems, and electrical systems.
- Ability to read technical manuals and diagnostic reports.
- Familiarity with preventive maintenance planning and fleet management.
- Good troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication, teamwork, and reporting abilities.
- Proficiency in MS Office; experience with fleet management software is an advantage.
Preferred Certifications
- Valid driving license.
- OEM or equipment maintenance certifications are an added advantage.
- Knowledge of workplace safety standards and maintenance best practices.
