We are looking for an experienced Backend API Developer with strong hands-on expertise in Java, Spring Boot, Microservices and RESTful API development (Remote Opportunity).
The candidate will work closely with technology teams, product owners and stakeholders to design, develop and support scalable and secure backend applications in an Agile environment.
Key Responsibilities
Design, develop and maintain backend applications using Java and Spring Boot.
Build scalable and secure RESTful APIs.
Develop and maintain applications based on microservices architecture.
Participate in application design, development, debugging, testing and production support.
Perform code reviews and recommend development best practices.
Identify application vulnerabilities and follow security best practices.
Troubleshoot issues in distributed systems and provide timely resolutions.
Perform application and API performance tuning.
Work with relational and NoSQL databases.
Participate in CI/CD implementation and deployment activities.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams in an Agile development workplace.
Ensure quality of application architecture and technical design.
Required Skills
Solid hands-on experience in Core Java
Strong knowledge of Spring Boot and Spring Framework
Positive understanding of Microservices Architecture
Strong experience developing REST APIs
Object-Oriented Programming and SOLID principles
Design Patterns and Data Structures
SQL databases such as MySQL / Oracle
NoSQL databases such as MongoDB / Couchbase
Understanding of caching layers, proxies and API architecture
Experience with JWT, OAuth and token-based authentication
Experience with CI/CD pipelines
Multithreading and non-blocking programming
Unit Testing and debugging
API and application performance tuning
Secure coding practices
Experience troubleshooting distributed applications
Good analytical and problem-solving skills
Good communication skills

Banking domain experience
Retail domain experience
Experience working with geographically distributed or virtual teams
Candidate Preference
Candidates who can join within 15 days will be preferred.
