Job Title: Pharmacist

Job Summary

The Pharmacist is responsible for dispensing medications accurately, ensuring patient safety, maintaining pharmacy inventory, complying with regulatory requirements, and providing medication counseling to patients.

Key Responsibilities
- Dispense prescription medicines accurately and safely.
- Verify prescriptions for accuracy, dosage, drug interactions, and contraindications.
- Counsel patients on medication usage, dosage, storage, side effects, and precautions.
- Maintain accurate records of prescriptions, dispensing, and pharmacy inventory.
- Monitor stock levels and ensure timely procurement of medicines.
- Check expiry dates and remove expired or damaged medicines.
- Ensure proper storage of medicines as per manufacturer guidelines.
- Maintain narcotic and scheduled drug registers as per legal requirements.
- Coordinate with doctors and other healthcare professionals regarding prescriptions.




- Handle billing and pharmacy documentation when required.
- Ensure compliance with pharmacy regulations, NABH standards (if applicable), and internal SOPs.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the pharmacy.
- Participate in audits, quality improvement activities, and inventory verification.
- Report medication errors or adverse drug reactions promptly.
- Educate patients on medication adherence and healthy lifestyle practices.

Qualifications:
- Diploma in Pharmacy (D.Pharm) or Bachelor of Pharmacy (B.Pharm).
- Valid State Pharmacy Council Registration (mandatory).

Experience
- 1-5 years of experience in a hospital, clinic, or retail pharmacy.
- Freshers with valid registration may also be considered.
