We are seeking a

Simulation Engineer (Process Modeling)

with a solid interest in process simulation and modeling to support process studies, design, optimization, and operator training using ANDRITZ IDEAS simulation software.In this role, you will develop and apply dynamic and steady-state process models across mining, mineral processing, and other industrial sectors. You will work closely with multidisciplinary teams to translate engineering and operational data into practical, buildable process models that support decision-making from early-stage studies through execution and plant start-up. This is a client-facing role suited to engineers who enjoy both technical problem-solving and collaboration.

Roles & ResponsibilitiesProcess Modeling & Simulation:Develop and maintain steady-state and dynamic process models using ANDRITZ IDEAS and other simulation toolsBuild flowsheets, mass and energy balances, process logic, and control representationsApply models to support:Process design verification and optimizationScenario and “what-if” analysisOperator Training Simulators (OTS)Control System CheckoutDigital Twin applicationsPerformance analysis and troubleshootingEngineering & Project Support:Prepare and review technical specifications, reports, and engineering documentationTranslate engineering data, feasibility studies, and operating data into simulation modelsContribute to techno-economic evaluations (TEA), including process assumptions and key cost driversSupport process audits, HAZOP reviews, debottlenecking, and optimization initiativesAssist with engineering verification, commissioning, operator training,



and plant start-upSales Support:Provide technical support during customer meetings and proposal development

Collaboration & Client Interaction:Participate in technical discussions with customers, internal teams, and suppliersPresent modeling results and technical findings to both technical and non-technical audiencesIdentify technical risks, scope changes, and improvement opportunities to support project delivery and business development

What We’re Looking ForBachelor’s degree in mining, Metallurgical, Chemical Engineering, or a related disciplineExperience in process modeling and simulation (steady-state and/or dynamic)Strong understanding of process engineering fundamentals, including:Mass and energy balanceFluid mechanicsProcess and materials technologyMetallurgical processes and unit operationsFamiliarity with process control concepts and control strategiesAbility to read and interpret PFDs, P&IDs;, and technical specificationsExperience working in project-based engineering environmentsStrong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detailEffective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively across teamsFluent in English

Nice to HaveExperience with ANDRITZ IDEAS simulation softwareExperience with other simulation tools (e.g., Aspen Plus, METSIM, SysCAD)Knowledge of mining and mineral processing circuits (crushing, grinding, flotation, classification, thickening, filtration)Familiarity with operator training simulators and digital twin applicationsProgramming skills (e.g., Python)Experience supporting commissioning and plant start-up activities
