About the Role

We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Design & Development Engineer to join our Sheet Metal Fabrication team.

The selected candidate will be responsible for designing sheet metal components, developing new products, preparing manufacturing drawings, coordinating with production, and supporting end-to-end product development activities.

Key Responsibilities

Design and develop sheet metal components using CAD software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, CATIA)

Create 2D manufacturing drawings and 3D models

Prepare fabrication drawings, flat patterns, and Bills of Materials (BOMs)

Coordinate with Production, Quality, and Procurement teams for seamless product development

Apply knowledge of sheet metal fabrication processes, including laser cutting, bending, punching, welding, and assembly

Review customer drawings and convert them into manufacturing-ready designs

Support prototype development and implement design improvements





Ensure designs comply with customer specifications and quality standards

Maintain engineering documentation, drawing revisions, and records

Participate in cost reduction and continuous process improvement initiatives

Required Skills

Strong understanding of sheet metal design principles

Proficiency in SolidWorks, AutoCAD, and CATIA

Positive knowledge of GD&T; and engineering drawings

Understanding of fabrication processes and manufacturing techniques

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Good communication and teamwork abilities

Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines

Preferred Skills

Experience in enclosure, cabinet, or sheet metal fabrication design

Knowledge of ERP systems and BOM management

Familiarity with ISO quality standards

Knowledge of PPAP (Product Part Approval Process)

Eligibility

Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent qualification

1–5 years of relevant experience in sheet metal design & development

Freshers with robust CAD skills are also encouraged to apply
