Key Responsibilities

1. Safety Compliance & Policy Implementation

- Develop, implement, and enforce plant safety policies and procedures.
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal safety regulations (e.g., OSHA or relevant authority).
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of safety legislation and industry standards.

2. Risk Assessment & Hazard Control

- Conduct regular risk assessments and job hazard analyses (JHA).
- Identify unsafe conditions and practices; recommend corrective actions.
- Monitor high-risk activities (confined space entry, hot work, working at heights, LOTO, etc.).

3. Inspections & Audits

- Perform routine plant inspections and safety audits.
- Ensure proper use of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment).
- Track and close out safety observations and corrective actions.

4. Incident Management

- Investigate accidents, near-misses, and unsafe acts.
- Prepare incident reports and root cause analysis.
- Implement corrective and preventive actions.

5. Training & Awareness

- Conduct safety induction for new employees and contractors.
- Organize regular safety training and toolbox talks.
- Promote safety awareness campaigns and emergency drills.

6. Emergency Preparedness

- Develop and maintain emergency response plans.
- Coordinate fire drills, evacuation drills, and first-aid readiness.




- Liaise with external emergency services when required.

7. Documentation & Reporting

- Maintain safety records, permits, inspection reports, and compliance documentation.
- Prepare monthly safety performance reports.
- Track safety KPIs (Lost Time Injury, TRIR, near-miss reports).

Qualifications

- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Occupational Health & Safety, Engineering, or related field.
- Safety certification (e.g., NEBOSH, IOSH, OSHA certification) preferred.
- 5 + years of experience in plant/industrial safety (depending on seniority level).

Skills & Competencies

- Strong knowledge of industrial safety standards.
- Excellent observation and risk assessment skills.
- Valuable communication and training abilities.
- Problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Ability to work independently and enforce safety regulations firmly but fairly.
- Proficiency in MS Office and safety reporting systems.

Working Conditions

- Primarily plant-floor based with exposure to industrial environment.
- May require shift work and availability during emergencies.
- Regular walking, inspections, and monitoring of operations.

Job Types: Full time, Permanent

Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹40,000.00 per month
