Placement Manager

About the Role

Lakhotia College of Design is looking for a proactive and target-driven Placement & Career Development Manager to build and manage our placement and internship ecosystem across Fashion Design, Interior Design, Photography, Graphic Design, Event Design and other creative disciplines.

This is not a desk-based placement coordination role. The person will be responsible for building relationships with companies, generating internship and job opportunities, coordinating recruitment, preparing students for the industry, and driving measurable placement outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

Employer & Industry Relations

- Build and maintain relationships with companies, studios, agencies, brands, production houses and other industry employers.
- Identify and approach new employers for internships, jobs, live projects and industry collaborations.
- Conduct regular employer outreach through calls, emails, LinkedIn and professional networks.
- Maintain and continuously expand the LCOD Employer Database.

Internship Management

- Identify relevant internship opportunities across all departments.
- Match students with suitable internship opportunities.
- Coordinate applications, interviews, joining and completion.
- Track internship progress and collect employer/student feedback.

Placement Management

- Source relevant job openings for LCOD students and graduates.
- Screen and shortlist suitable candidates.
- Coordinate CV/portfolio submissions and interviews.




- Track the complete recruitment pipeline from application to joining.
- Maintain accurate records of offers and actual joining.

Student Career Development

- Assess students' career readiness and identify gaps.
- Support students with CVs, portfolios, LinkedIn profiles and interview preparation.
- Conduct mock interviews, portfolio reviews and career guidance sessions.
- Work closely with HODs/faculty to identify suitable candidates for opportunities.

Data & Performance Management

- Maintain the LCOD Placement & Career Development tracker on a daily basis.
- Record employer contacts, meetings, opportunities, interviews, internships, offers and placements.
- Submit weekly placement reports to management.
- Achieve defined monthly employer, opportunity, interview, internship and placement KPIs.

Key Performance Indicators

The role will be measured on outcomes, including:

- New relevant employer relationships
- Employer meetings and industry interactions
- Job opportunities generated
- Internship opportunities generated
- Student interviews
- Internships secured
- Placement offers
- Student joining conversions
- Employer follow-up completion
- Accuracy and regularity of placement data

Candidate Profile





We are looking for someone who is:

- Excellent at communication and relationship building
- Confident speaking with HR managers, business owners and industry professionals
- Target-oriented and comfortable with measurable KPIs
- Proactive and capable of generating opportunities independently
- Strong in follow-up and negotiation
- Organised and comfortable working with Google Sheets/CRM systems
- Comfortable interacting with students as well as industry professionals
- Interested in creative industries such as fashion, interiors, media, photography, design, advertising and events

Experience

Preferred: 2–5 years of experience in placements, recruitment, business development, corporate relations, campus hiring, HR recruitment or a similar role.

Candidates with strong sales/business development or recruitment experience and excellent communication skills may also be considered.

Key

This role requires significant outbound employer outreach and relationship building. Candidates who are comfortable only with administrative placement coordination may not be suitable.

Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹25,000.00 per month
