About Starbrews

Starbrews is a modern café built around good coffee, good food and a welcoming café experience. We are looking for a responsible and energetic Café Manager who can take ownership of the day-to-day outlet operations and ensure smooth service.

Job Summary

The Café Manager will be responsible for the overall operation of the outlet, including customer service, staff management, inventory, billing, cleanliness, order management and daily reporting.

The Manager should be capable of running the café efficiently even when the owners are not present.

Key Responsibilities1. Outlet Operations

- Take complete responsibility for the day-to-day functioning of Starbrews.
- Ensure the café opens and closes on time.
- Conduct opening and closing checks every day.
- Ensure all departments are ready before service begins.
- Monitor the café throughout the shift and resolve operational issues immediately.
- Ensure all Starbrews SOPs and operational standards are followed.

2. Customer Experience

- Personally ensure that every customer receives quick, polite and professional service.
- Ensure staff attends customers promptly after they are seated.
- Monitor table service, order accuracy and serving time.
- Handle customer complaints professionally and resolve issues whenever possible.
- Take regular customer feedback and communicate significant feedback to management.
- Encourage staff to suggest suitable add-ons and upsells such as desserts, fries, beverages and combos.

3. Staff Management

- Manage the daily attendance and shifts of all café employees.
- Allocate duties before every shift.
- Ensure staff are properly groomed and dressed before starting work.
- Conduct daily briefings before service.
- Monitor staff performance, discipline and behaviour.
- Ensure proper communication between the kitchen, bar and service team.
- Train new employees on Starbrews' service standards and SOPs.
- Report repeated performance or discipline issues to management.

4. Order & Service Management

- Monitor dine-in,



takeaway and online orders.
- Ensure orders are accepted only after confirming product availability.
- Coordinate between the kitchen and barista team.
- Monitor order preparation time.
- Ensure the correct items are packed and served.
- Prevent delays, missing items and incorrect orders.

5. Inventory & Stock Control

- Maintain daily stock levels of food, beverages, packaging and other consumables.
- Check incoming stock and verify quantities.
- Follow FIFO (First In, First Out).
- Monitor wastage, spoilage and unnecessary consumption.
- Prepare purchase requirements and inform management on time.
- Ensure stock records are updated accurately.
- Conduct regular physical stock checks.

6. Billing & Cash Management

- Monitor all billing and payment transactions.
- Ensure every sale is properly billed through the POS system.
- Verify cash, UPI and other payment collections.
- Maintain the daily sales report.
- Report any billing discrepancy immediately.
- Ensure discounts and offers are applied only as authorized by management.

7. Hygiene & Café Standards

- Ensure the café, tables, service area and washroom are clean throughout the day.
- Monitor kitchen and bar hygiene.
- Ensure garbage is cleared regularly.
- Conduct regular checks for flies, mosquitoes, spills, food contamination and cleanliness issues.
- Ensure all staff follow proper hygiene and grooming standards.

8. Daily Reporting

The Manager will be responsible for maintaining and submitting:

- Daily Sales Report
- Daily Expense Report
- Attendance Report
- Stock/Inventory Report
- Wastage Report
- Customer Complaint/Feedback Report
- Online Order Report
- Any operational incident report

9. Sales & Business Growth

- Actively look for opportunities to increase the café's average bill value.
- Train staff in upselling and cross-selling.




- Monitor best-selling and slow-moving products.
- Suggest promotions, combos and menu improvements to management.
- Help maintain strong relationships with regular customers.

10. Maintenance & Problem Solving

- Immediately report equipment breakdowns or maintenance issues.
- Coordinate with vendors/service providers when authorized.
- Ensure the café never runs out of essential operational items.
- Handle day-to-day problems independently wherever possible.
- Escalate major financial, staff, customer or safety issues to management.

Candidate Requirements

- 2–4+ years of experience in café, restaurant, QSR, hospitality or retail operations.
- Previous experience as a Café Manager / Restaurant Manager / Shift Manager / Outlet Manager preferred.
- Strong communication and leadership skills.
- Good knowledge of customer service and outlet operations.
- Comfortable handling POS, billing and basic reports.
- Basic understanding of inventory and stock management.
- Ability to manage staff and resolve conflicts.
- Good computer and documentation skills.
- Must be punctual, disciplined, responsible and proactive.
- Should be comfortable taking ownership rather than waiting for instructions.

The Manager should be able to operate Starbrews smoothly for several days without the owners needing to supervise every small task.

Salary

₹10,000 – ₹15,000 per month, depending on experience, skills and performance.
