Role: Business Analyst – Back Office

Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented Business Analyst to join the 5paisa Back Office team. The role will act as a bridge between business stakeholders, product, development, and quality assurance teams.

The Business Analyst will be responsible for gathering and analysing requirements, preparing business requirement documents, managing stakeholders, creating solution prototypes, and supporting end-to-end application testing. The role will help ensure that software solutions are reliable, high-quality, and aligned with business requirements.

Key Responsibilities

- Gather, analyse, validate, and prioritise business and technical requirements.
- Prepare business requirement documents, user stories, process flows, functional specifications, and acceptance criteria.
- Create wireframes and prototypes to support solution design and stakeholder alignment.
- Review requirements for completeness, feasibility, traceability, and testability.
- Prepare test plans, test scenarios, test cases, and relevant test data.
- Perform manual testing of web and mobile applications.
- Execute functional, regression, integration, system, and user acceptance testing.
- Coordinate with business users to plan and execute UAT and obtain timely sign-offs.
- Identify, document, prioritise, track, and retest defects using appropriate defect-tracking tools.
- Collaborate with developers and product teams to reproduce issues, clarify expected behaviour, and verify fixes.
- Maintain accurate requirement, testing, defect, and release documentation.




- Participate in Agile ceremonies, including daily stand-ups, backlog refinement, sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives.
- Ensure adherence to established quality assurance processes, standards, and best practices.
- Support production releases and conduct post-release validation.

Required Skills and Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Business, or a related discipline.
- 5–8 years of relevant experience as a Business Analyst, Product Owner, or in a similar functional role.
- Mandatory experience in the retail stock-broking domain.
- Hands-on experience in business analysis, requirement gathering, documentation, and stakeholder management.
- Strong understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC).
- Practical knowledge of functional, regression, integration, system, and UAT testing.
- Understanding of the defect life cycle and experience with defect-tracking or test-management tools.
- Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies.
- Basic proficiency in SQL and an understanding of relational databases.
- Knowledge of API testing using Postman and REST APIs.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder-management skills.

Preferred Skills

- Experience with automation tools such as Selenium, Cypress, or Playwright.
- CBAP, CSPO, or another relevant business analysis, product, Agile, or quality certification.
- Exposure to performance or security testing.
