Principal Purpose of Job: The Medical Coder is responsible for accurately translating medical documentation into standardized codes, playing a crucial role in Cotiviti's mission to improve healthcare economics. This position ensures the integrity of health information used for claims processing, risk adjustment, quality reporting, and data analysis.

Job Responsibilities:

- Accurately assign ICD, CPT, HCPCS, and DRG codes based on clinical documentation.
- Review and interpret patient medical records, including physician notes, operative reports, and diagnostic results.
- Ensure coding compliance with industry standards, government regulations, and client-specific guidelines.
- Collaborate with internal teams to clarify documentation and support accurate coding.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of coding guidelines,



conventions, and regulations.
- Participate in quality assurance activities and contribute to process improvements.
- Identify and report coding discrepancies or issues as needed.

Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in any stream (preferably Life Science).
- Certified Professional Coder (CPC) from the American Academy of Professional Coders (AAPC) is preferred.
- Knowledge of HCPCS, ICD, CPT, and DRG.
- Knowledge of ICD-10 coding is preferred.
- Ability to work from the office workplace.
