Academic Counsellor

We are seeking a compassionate and knowledgeable Academic Counsellor to join our educational institution. The ideal candidate will guide students in their academic journey, helping them make informed decisions about their studies, career paths, and personal development.

Responsibilities:

- Provide individual and group counselling to students on academic matters, including course selection, study skills, and academic planning.
- Assist students in understanding and navigating academic policies and procedures.
- Offer guidance on career exploration and development, connecting academic pursuits with future aspirations.
- Support students facing academic challenges, developing strategies for improvement and success.
- Liaise with faculty, staff, and parents to support student well-being and academic progress.
- Organize and deliver workshops on topics such as time management, stress reduction, and effective study habits.
- Maintain accurate and confidential student records.
- Stay updated on educational trends, curriculum changes,



and career opportunities.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Education, Psychology, Counselling, or a related field.
- Proven experience as an Academic Counsellor or in a similar role within an educational setting.
- Strong understanding of academic programmes, curriculum development, and student support services.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and active listening skills.
- Ability to empathize with students and provide supportive guidance.
- Proficiency in relevant counselling techniques and assessment tools.
- Knowledge of career development theories and resources.
- Experience in organizing and facilitating workshops.
- Familiarity with student information systems is a plus.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
