Job Description SAP ABAP Consultant

Urgent Requirement | 3 Positions

Position: SAP ABAP Consultant

Experience: 56 Years

Location: Ahmedabad, Gujarat, India Onsite

No. of Positions: 3

Deployment Duration: 6 Months Extendable

Engagement: Project Deployment / Contract

Joining: Preferably Immediate / Short Notice

Customer Facing: Yes Mandatory

Role Overview

We are looking for 3 strong SAP ABAP Consultants with 56 years of hands-on development experience for an urgent onsite customer engagement in Ahmedabad.

The consultant should have strong expertise in ABAP development, SAP integrations/interfaces, debugging, and technical solutioning . Since this is a customer-facing assignment, excellent communication and stakeholder-management skills are mandatory.

Key Responsibilities

- Design, develop, enhance, test, and support SAP solutions using ABAP.
- Develop reports, interfaces, conversions, enhancements, forms, and workflows.
- Develop high-quality, reusable, and performance-optimized ABAP code.
- Handle SAP and non-SAP integration/interface development.
- Work on BAPIs, RFCs, IDocs, APIs, Web Services , and other integration mechanisms.
- Collaborate with functional consultants to convert functional specifications into technical solutions.
- Prepare technical specifications, unit-test documents, and technical documentation.
- Perform debugging, root-cause analysis, and performance tuning.
- Support SIT, UAT, cutover, go-live, and post-go-live activities.
- Participate in customer discussions, requirement clarification, technical solutioning, and issue resolution.
- Coordinate effectively with onsite/offshore teams and customer stakeholders.

Mandatory Technical Skills

- 56 years of relevant SAP ABAP experience




- Core ABAP Programming
- Object-Oriented ABAP / ABAP Objects
- Reports, ALV, and Dialog Programming
- Enhancements, User Exits, Customer Exits, BAdIs, Enhancement Framework
- BAPIs and RFCs
- IDoc development, enhancement, and troubleshooting
- SAP Interface / Integration Development
- Web Services / APIs
- Data Dictionary
- Debugging and troubleshooting
- Performance analysis and optimization
- Smart Forms / Adobe Forms
- SAP Transport and Development Lifecycle
- Technical specification and documentation

Strong integration/interface coding experience is particularly important.

Good to Have SAP Fiori

Candidates with exposure to the following will be preferred:

- SAP Gateway / OData
- OData service development and troubleshooting
- CDS Views
- SAP Fiori
- SAPUI5
- Fiori application troubleshooting and enhancements
- Integration of Fiori applications with SAP backend services

Deep Fiori expertise is not mandatory; hands-on OData or Fiori exposure is an added advantage.

Customer-Facing Requirements

- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Comfortable interacting directly with customer stakeholders
- Ability to understand and clarify technical requirements independently
- Strong technical explanation and problem-solving skills
- Ability to participate in requirement workshops and technical discussions
- Professional customer-handling and stakeholder-management skills
- Ability to work independently with limited supervision

Deployment Details





The selected consultants will be required to work onsite in Ahmedabad for an initial period of 6 months , with the possibility of extension based on project requirements and performance.

Candidates must be willing to relocate/travel to Ahmedabad and work from the customer/project location for the assignment.

Ideal Candidate

- 56 years of hands-on SAP ABAP development experience
- Strong ABAP coding capability
- Strong SAP integration/interface experience
- Experience with BAPI, RFC, IDoc, API, and Web Services
- Strong debugging and analytical skills
- Customer-facing experience preferred
- Valuable communication and stakeholder-management skills
- Willingness to work onsite in Ahmedabad
- Comfortable undergoing a technical/coding assessment and customer interview
