About the Role: We are looking for a commercially driven professional to build and grow sourcing partnerships across the consumer electronics retail ecosystem.
This is a business development role with a difference. Instead of selling products into retail channels, the role will focus on building partnerships with large-format electronics retailers, regional retail chains, distributors, dealers, OEM retail networks and other channel partners to source used, exchanged, returned, obsolete and end-of-life electronic products.
The person will be responsible for developing these channels into large, recurring and commercially viable sources of electronic products and materials.
Key Responsibilities:
- Identify and develop sourcing partnerships with electronics retailers, retail chains, distributors, dealers, OEM stores, service networks and other channel partners.
- Build relationships with decision-makers responsible for exchange, trade-in, buyback, reverse logistics, category, commercial and supply-chain programmes.
- Acquire new channel partners and build a strong pipeline of potential sourcing opportunities.
- Structure commercial arrangements for collection and acquisition of used, exchanged, returned and end-of-life electronic products.
- Work with partners to increase collection volumes and build predictable, recurring supply.
- Negotiate commercials, operating models,
pickup mechanisms and service expectations with channel partners.
- Track sourcing volumes, acquisition costs, product mix and overall commercial viability of each partnership.
- Work closely with internal operations, refurbishment, recycling and sales teams to ensure that collected products are routed towards their highest-value use.
- Develop new sourcing models and partnerships as the retail collection network expands.
What We Are Looking For:
- 6–12 years of experience in business development, channel partnerships, alliances, trade-in/buyback, recommerce, reverse logistics, device sourcing or channel sales.
- Strong understanding of the consumer electronics, mobile, appliances or technology retail ecosystem.
- Existing relationships with large electronics retailers, OEMs, distributors or dealer networks would be highly valuable.
- Demonstrated ability to open new accounts, build partnerships and negotiate commercial arrangements.
- Experience with exchange programmes, trade-in, buyback, used electronics, recommerce, refurbishment or reverse supply chains would be a strong advantage.
- Robust commercial orientation with an understanding of volume, acquisition cost and unit economics.
- Comfortable building a new business/channel from the ground up.
