Role & responsibilities

Generate Functional specifications and a top-level architecture to meet the product specs.

- Design and develop analogue/digital/power electronic circuits and systems for power electronics products.
- Selection, evaluation of electronic components and power devices including IGBTs, MOSFETs, Power Diodes, Thyristors, Transformers, Inductors etc.
- Design gate drivers, protection circuitry, feedback circuitry and work in collaboration with firmware team to implement in product design.
- Implement designs to conform international EMI – EMC & Safety requirements, standards and regulations.
- Design calculations and simulations for electronic components like capacitors, chokes, transformers, power devices, op-amp based circuits, circuit protections and selection of fuses & MCBs, etc.
- Design of auxiliary power supplies for control electronics.
- Support in design of scheme, topology selection, schematics design for product development.
- Update schematics, support to thermal simulations with technical details required for thermal models of the product.
- Guide other power electronics engineers in design implementation, testing and validation for test objectives, review test set-ups and draw conclusions.
- Work collaboratively with Mechanical, PCB, Conformance, Firmware engineers and other Power Electronics engineers to get the design implemented.
- Create Test cases,



test plan and test sequence.
- Verify/Test designs, to meet the agreed functional design requirements and conforms to international EMC and safety requirements & regulations.
- Conduct/participate product design and test reviews.

Preferred candidate profile

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electronics / Electronics & Telecommunication / Industrial Electronics / Power Electronics. About 15 years or higher relevant experience in design, testing & validation of power converter products, switch mode power supplies, variable frequency drives, inverters, dc power supplies, analogue & digital circuit design etc.

- Knowledge of interface signals with micro controllers, processors is added advantage.
- Knowledge of test equipment and correct use is required. Should be well familiar with electronics and electrical test equipment.
- Ability to give technical support to team members.
- Capable of transparent and accurate communication, both verbal and written
- Use of software tools for updating schematics and layout reviews is an added advantage.
- Self-motivated, takes ownership of assigned tasks / projects with minimal supervision.
- Organise and prioritise own work to deliver in timely manner.
- Collaborative with local and global teams, works effectively both in team environment and when alone
