The Engineering Manager is responsible for leading and managing multi-disciplinary engineering activities on EPC Oil & Gas projects. The role ensures timely delivery of engineering deliverables in compliance with project specifications, international codes, budgeted man-hours, and schedules, while coordinating closely with Project Management, Procurement, Construction, and external stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
Engineering Leadership
- Lead multi-disciplinary engineering teams and act as technical authority for projects.
- Ensure compliance with company standards, client requirements, and international codes.
Planning & Control
- Plan and control engineering activities aligned with EPC schedules and budgets.
- Monitor progress, man-hours, risks, and implement corrective actions.
Engineering Delivery
- Review and approve key engineering deliverables across FEED, Detailed Engineering, and Construction support.
- Ensure engineering outputs support procurement and construction priorities.
- Procurement & Vendors
- Support procurement through MRQs, technical bid evaluations, and vendor data review.
- Monitor subcontractor engineering performance and quality.
Interfaces & Reviews
- Interface with internal teams, clients, and vendors.
- Participate in design reviews, HAZOP/HAZID/SIL, and constructability workshops.
Quality & Team Development
- Maintain engineering quality systems and document control.
- Mentor engineers and support team development.
Education:
- Bachelors degree in Engineering (B.E./B.Tech) in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Energy Engineering, or a related discipline from a recognized Indian university/institute.
- Postgraduate qualification (M.E./M.Tech/MS) in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Energy Systems, or Engineering Management is highly preferred.
- Additional qualifications or certifications in Process Engineering, Equipment Engineering, Project Management, or Engineering Management are desirable.
- Formal training or certification in Project Management (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2) or MBA/PGDM in Operations/Project Management will be an added advantage.
- Proficiency in English (written and spoken) is mandatory; knowledge of additional languages is a solid plus.
Experience:
- At least 12-15 years of experience in companies that develop industrial projects in the Oil & Gas sector.
- Experience in tasks related to engineering activities within project development.
- Experience in managing work teams for engineering activities development.
- Experience in international projects.
- Significant experience in leadership roles within engineering.
- In-depth knowledge of engineering principles and product development.
- Softwares: Autocad, Aveva, Primavera, Aspen Ansys
