Tech OVN is looking for a practical and detail-oriented
Hardware Design Engineer
with hands-on experience in electronic circuit design, PCB development, board bring-up, testing, and troubleshooting. The candidate should be capable of taking a hardware product from design requirements through schematic development, PCB layout, manufacturing documentation, prototype testing, compliance testing, and production readiness. Key Responsibilities
Capture and document hardware design requirements. Develop electronic schematics using
Altium Designer . Perform schematic review and circuit simulation. Design multilayer PCB layouts while following EMI/EMC, signal-integrity, grounding, isolation, and thermal-management guidelines. Design boards according to applicable
IPC standards . Carry out PCB Design for Manufacturing and Assembly— DFM and DFA . Prepare complete manufacturing documentation, including: Gerber and fabrication files Assembly files Bill of Materials Pick-and-place/SMT data Stencil data Silkscreen details PCB manufacturing guidelines Nodal test-point information Coordinate with PCB manufacturers, component suppliers, and SMT assembly teams. Perform board bring-up, functional testing, debugging, and design validation. Troubleshoot circuit, component, communication, EMI/EMC, and manufacturing-related issues. Support product type testing, reliability testing, and compliance testing. Incorporate improvements identified during prototype development and testing. Design boards to meet
35 kV immunity and RF jammer compliance requirements , wherever applicable. Required Technical Knowledge
The candidate should have practical knowledge of: Altium Designer Schematic capture and circuit simulation PCB layout and multilayer PCB design PCB DFM and manufacturing processes IPC standards EMI and EMC design practices Board bring-up and hardware troubleshooting Product reliability and type testing RS-485 and Ethernet communication interfaces GPRS, Wi-Fi, and other wireless communication modules Antenna placement, PCB antenna layout, and antenna-tuning considerations Power-supply and protection circuit design Component-Level Knowledge
The candidate should be familiar with the selection and application of components such as: Microcontrollers and processors SMPS controller ICs LDO regulators Operational amplifiers Communication and wireless modules Capacitors, including electrolytic capacitors X1, X2, Y1, and Y2 safety capacitors MOVs, TVS diodes, and surge-protection components Relays, optocouplers, isolation components, and interface ICs Connectors, magnetic components, and other PCB-level electronic components Preferred Candidate Profile
Robust practical understanding of electronic hardware rather than only theoretical knowledge. Experience developing industrial, IoT, energy-monitoring, communication, or embedded electronic products. Ability to independently debug prototypes using oscilloscopes, multimeters, logic analysers, power supplies, and other laboratory equipment. Understanding of component selection, availability, lifecycle, alternates, and cost optimisation. Good documentation and cross-functional coordination skills. Ownership-oriented approach with the ability to take designs from concept to production. About Tech OVN
