Role Summary
The Merchandise Planning is responsible for driving merchandise financial planning, inventory productivity, and stock optimization across categories to achieve business sales, margin, sell-through, and stock turn objectives. The role will lead Open-to-Buy (OTB) planning, range architecture, monthly inward planning, pricing and markdown strategies, stock cover management, and in-season trading actions to ensure healthy inventory levels, product freshness, and profitable growth.

Merchandise Financial Planning & OTB Management
- Derive seasonal and annual Open-to-Buy (OTB) plans aligned with business budgets, sales forecasts, and inventory targets.
- Monitor and drive OTB utilization across categories, ensuring disciplined buying decisions and inventory investments.
- Develop bottom-up merchandise plans by category, sub-category, and option level to achieve business objectives.
- Build and manage monthly, quarterly, and seasonal financial plans covering Sales, Stock, Intake, Sell Through, and Margin.




- Partner with Buying teams to align assortment investments with planned sales and profitability expectations.

Range Architecture & Assortment Planning
- Define and govern category-wise range architecture including option counts, price ladders, depth, width, and assortment mix.
- Ensure balanced assortment planning across fashion, core, seasonal, and basic products.
- Collaborate with Buying and Design teams to optimize option productivity and assortment effectiveness.
- Drive option rationalization based on sales performance, productivity, and customer demand insights.

Intake Planning & Positive Inwards Management
- Create bottom-up monthly intake plans to support sales forecasts and stock objectives.
- Monitor planned versus actual good inwards and take corrective actions to manage inventory flow.
- Coordinate with Buying and Supply Chain teams to ensure timely product availability and launch readiness.
