Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced Assistant Store Manager with hands-on experience in Dark Store and Last-Mile Operations. The role will be responsible for supporting day-to-day store operations, ensuring smooth order fulfillment, managing inventory and coordinating with delivery partners to achieve operational and delivery SLAs.

The ideal candidate should be comfortable working in a high-volume, rapid-paced dark store environment and have strong ownership of store-level performance.

Key Responsibilities

1. Dark Store Operations

- Manage day-to-day operations of the assigned dark store.
- Ensure smooth execution of inbound, putaway, picking, packing and dispatch activities.
- Monitor order processing and ensure orders are fulfilled within defined SLAs.
- Coordinate with the Store Manager and operations team to achieve daily targets.
- Identify operational bottlenecks and take corrective action.

2. Last-Mile Operations

- Coordinate with delivery partners/riders to ensure timely order dispatch.
- Monitor rider availability, deployment and productivity.
- Ensure smooth handover of orders from the dark store to delivery partners.
- Resolve rider, order and dispatch-related operational issues.
- Track delivery performance and support improvement in TAT and SLA adherence.

3. Inventory Management

- Monitor stock availability and inventory accuracy.
- Ensure proper receiving, putaway and stock movement.
- Conduct regular cycle counts and physical stock checks.
- Identify and resolve inventory discrepancies, damages and shortages.
- Ensure proper storage and handling of products.

4. Team Management

- Supervise store associates, pickers, packers and delivery partners.
- Allocate manpower based on order volumes and operational requirements.
- Monitor attendance, productivity and performance.
- Conduct shift briefings and ensure SOP adherence.




- Support training and onboarding of new team members.

5. Store Performance & KPIs

- Monitor key store-level metrics including:
- Order fulfillment rate
- Picking and packing productivity
- Dispatch TAT
- Inventory accuracy
- Rider availability
- Rider productivity
- Cancellation rate
- SLA adherence
- Store productivity

- Prepare daily performance reports and highlight operational gaps.

6. Process & Compliance

- Ensure compliance with company SOPs and operational processes.
- Maintain 5S, housekeeping and safety standards within the store.
- Ensure proper handling of inventory and equipment.
- Conduct regular process checks and support audits.

7. Stakeholder Coordination

- Coordinate with Store Manager, City Operations, Last Mile, Inventory, HR and central operations teams.
- Ensure timely resolution of operational escalations.
- Support store-level initiatives to improve productivity and customer experience.

Required Skills & Qualifications

- 25 years of experience in Dark Store, Last Mile, Quick Commerce, E-commerce or Logistics Operations.
- Mandatory hands-on experience in Dark Store Operations.
- Strong understanding of Last-Mile Operations and Delivery Partner Management.
- Experience in inventory and store operations.
- Good understanding of operational KPIs and SLA management.
- Strong team-handling and problem-solving skills.
- Good communication and coordination skills.
- Comfortable working in rotational shifts and high-volume environments.
- Strong ownership and accountability.
