Role & responsibilities

We are seeking an experienced DB2 Application Developer / Migration Consultant to lead and execute enterprise-scale migrations of Oracle and Teradata workloads onto IBM DB2 for our clients.

The ideal candidate is a hands-on DB2 application developer someone who writes, converts, debugs, and optimizes DB2 application code (SQL PL stored procedures, triggers, UDFs, embedded SQL, batch programs) rather than someone who administers DB2 instances. Experience with Oracle PL/SQL and Teradata BTEQ conversion is essential. This is a client-facing, delivery-focused role suited to someone who can own the technical migration of application logic end-to-end, from assessment through cutover and post-migration validation.

Preferred candidate profile :-

Must have DB2 application development:

- 8+ years in database/application development, with 5+ years hands-on DB2 application development (LUW and/or z/OS)
- Demonstrable experience authoring and debugging DB2 SQL PL — stored procedures, UDFs, triggers, compound SQL, condition handlers, cursors
- Embedded SQL development in at least one host language (COBOL, Java/JDBC, .NET, or Python), including precompile, BIND, packages/collections, DBRM,



and DCLGEN (z/OS)
- Working command of static vs. energetic SQL, isolation levels, locking and concurrency from an application design standpoint
- EXPLAIN / access path analysis and SQL rewriting for application performance
- DB2 utilities used in a development/batch context: LOAD, IMPORT/EXPORT, UNLOAD, RUNSTATS
- DB2 Connect / JDBC / ODBC / CLI application connectivity and troubleshooting

Must have — migration:

- Hands-on conversion of Oracle PL/SQL and/or Teradata BTEQ/SQL into DB2 SQL PL, at scale
- At least one completed end-to-end enterprise migration onto DB2, including cutover and post-migration validation
- Strong data reconciliation and validation discipline

Good to have:

- IBM Db2 Bridge experience (UI and CLI)
- Source control and CI/CD for database objects (Git, Liquibase/Flyway, Jenkins/Azure DevOps)
- Exposure to modern targets (Snowflake, Databricks, Azure SQL) for hybrid-target engagements
- IBM DB2 certification (Application Developer track preferred over Administrator track)
- Prior consulting or client-facing delivery experience
