Key Responsibilities*

- Write, edit, and publish news articles in Telugu and English for Today Telugu and related platforms

- Craft attention-grabbing, accurate thumbnail titles and headlines optimized for click-through without being misleading

- Translate and localize content between Telugu and English while preserving tone and meaning

- Research and verify facts for news stories, ensuring accuracy and timeliness

- Write captions, descriptions, and copy for social media posts (Instagram, YouTube, Facebook)

- Coordinate with the design/video team to align thumbnail text with visuals

- Follow editorial guidelines and maintain consistent brand voice across platforms

- Monitor trending topics and community-relevant news for content opportunities

- Meet daily/weekly publishing deadlines in a fast-paced news setting

*Technical Skills*

- Writing/Editing: Strong command of Telugu and English grammar, spelling, and style; ability to write concisely for digital consumption

- Content Platforms: WordPress or CMS-based publishing, YouTube Studio (titles/descriptions/tags), Instagram/Facebook content tools





- SEO Basics: Headline optimization, keyword usage for news search visibility, meta descriptions

- Research Tools: Google Search, news aggregators, fact-checking sources

- Collaboration Tools: Google Docs/Sheets, Canva (for thumbnail text mockups), basic familiarity with video/thumbnail design workflow

- Analytics Awareness: Understanding of what drives CTR (click-through rate) on thumbnails/headlines, basic YouTube/Instagram analytics literacy

*Requirements*

- 1-3 years of experience in bilingual (Telugu/English) content writing, journalism, or digital media

- Proven experience writing news articles and/or video thumbnail/headline copy

- Strong understanding of Telugu diaspora/community news interests a plus

- Ability to work quickly and accurately under deadline pressure

- Familiarity with YouTube/social media content formats and best practices
