Job Summary

Role Overview: The Senior AR Caller is responsible for handling complex AR accounts, high-dollar balances, and difficult payer follow-ups while consistently meeting productivity and quality targets. This role serves as a subject matter resource for junior AR Callers and supports Team Leads in maintaining operational efficiency. The Senior AR Caller is expected to demonstrate strong payer knowledge, problem-solving skills, and a high level of ownership.

Responsibilities

- AR Follow-Up & Collections: Perform outbound calls to insurance companies to resolve outstanding AR
- Work on complex, aged, and high-dollar accounts
- Handle denials, appeals, underpayments, and reprocessing requests
- Ensure timely follow-up and accurate documentation of account actions
- Denial Management: Analyze denial reasons and take appropriate corrective actions
- Prepare and submit appeals with required documentation
- Identify recurring denial trends and escalate to Team Lead
- Quality & Compliance: Ensure compliance with payer guidelines, HIPAA, and client SOPs
- Maintain high accuracy in documentation and account resolution
- Support audit requirements and corrective actions
- Mentoring & Support: Support training and knowledge-sharing with AR Callers




- Assist Team Lead with process clarification and issue resolution
- Act as a backup for Team Lead during peak workload periods
- Reporting & Productivity: Meet or exceed defined productivity and quality targets
- Maintain accurate trackers and follow-up logs
- Communicate risks or delays proactively to Team Lead

Experience

- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in US Healthcare AR follow-ups
- Strong experience in payer calling, denials, and appeals

Education

- Graduate preferred

Credentials / Certifications

- Healthcare or RCM-related certifications preferred

Skills & Knowledge

- Strong knowledge of US insurance payers and AR workflows
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Positive time management and multitasking skills
- Proficiency in basic computer applications and billing systems
