Job Summary

As an Automation Engineer within Enterprise Data and AI Solutions, you will play a key role in designing, building, and scaling automation solutions that improve efficiency, reduce operational effort, and enhance user experience across Warner Bros. Discovery.

This role focuses on supporting and maintaining existing automation solutions built using UiPath, Power Automate, and Python-based scripts, while contributing to continuous improvement and operational stability.

You will work closely with cross-functional teams across AI, data, engineering, IT, product, and business functions to identify automation opportunities, translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions, and deliver reliable automation assets that can operate securely at enterprise scale. The role will require a robust engineering mindset, practical understanding of AI-enabled solution delivery, and the ability to build automation that is measurable, reusable, maintainable, and aligned to WBD s technology, security, and governance standards.

1. Automation Strategy, Design AI Opportunity Assessment

- Work with stakeholders to understand business processes, pain points, and opportunities for automation across business and technology teams.
- Assess whether a process is best suited for traditional automation, workflow automation, AI-assisted automation, or agentic AI patterns.
- Design automation solutions that improve operational efficiency, scalability, quality, and speed of execution.
- Partner with AI, data, product, and engineering teams to identify where AI capabilities such as natural language processing, summarization, classification, extraction, recommendation, or decision support can enhance automation outcomes.
- Contribute to solution design documents, process maps, technical specifications, and delivery plans for automation and AI-enabled automation initiatives.
- Ensure proposed solutions align with enterprise architecture, security, data privacy, responsible AI, and technology governance standards.

2. Automation Support Duties/Responsibilities

- Production Support Monitoring:
- Monitor automated processes (RPA bots and flows) to ensure stable execution.
- Investigate and resolve automation failures and exceptions.




- Perform root cause analysis and document recurring issues.
- Ensure timely incident resolution aligned with SLAs.

- Automation Maintenance Enhancements:

- Support solutions in UiPath, Power Automate, and Python.
- Implement minor enhancements and bug fixes.
- Handle bot re-runs, scheduling, and queue management.

- Incident Change Management:

- Log and track tickets in tools like ServiceNow or Jira.
- Collaborate with L2/L3 teams for complex issues.
- Support deployment validation and releases.

3. Automation Development Implementation

- Develop, test, deploy, and maintain automation scripts, workflows, APIs, and tools to streamline repetitive tasks and business processes.
- Build automation components using technologies such as Python, Bash, PowerShell, JavaScript, APIs, cloud services, CI/CD tools, and orchestration platforms.
- Implement integrations with enterprise systems, data platforms, workflow tools, and AI services where required.
- Support the development of AI-enabled automation deliverables such as intelligent intake workflows, document processing automation, content or metadata extraction, automated triage, reporting automation, and AI-assisted operational workflows.
- Collaborate with AI/ML teams to integrate automation with LLMs, AI models, prompt-based workflows, vector search, retrieval-based systems, or enterprise AI services.
- Build reusable automation frameworks, connectors, templates, and libraries that can accelerate delivery across multiple use cases.
- Ensure solutions are robust, secure, observable, and scalable before production deployment.

4. AI Deliverables Agentic Workflow Support

- Support the delivery of AI-enabled automation use cases from discovery through prototype, pilot, and production deployment.
- Help build and configure AI workflow components, including prompt templates, API integrations, retrieval workflows, validation checks, and human-in-the-loop review steps.
- Contribute to the development of agentic automation patterns where tasks can be planned,



executed, monitored, and escalated using AI-enabled agents under appropriate controls.
- Develop automation logic that can orchestrate multiple tools, systems, data sources, and AI services to complete business workflows.
- Assist in defining measurable success criteria for AI-enabled automation, including cycle-time reduction, effort savings, quality improvement, accuracy, adoption, and operational reliability.
- Support AI solution testing, including prompt validation, regression testing, exception handling, output review, and performance tracking.
- Help maintain documentation for AI-enabled workflows, including assumptions, limitations, controls, escalation paths, and support procedures.

5. Collaboration Cross-functional Coordination

- Work closely with engineering, operations, IT, AI, data, security, and business teams to integrate automation solutions into existing platforms and workflows.
- Collaborate with product owners and business stakeholders to clarify requirements, prioritize use cases, and define implementation roadmaps.
- Support teams in troubleshooting issues related to automation workflows, AI integrations, APIs, data pipelines, and deployed solutions.
- Provide ongoing support and maintenance for automation systems, ensuring high availability and minimal disruption to business operations.
- Assist in training users and technical teams on automation tools, AI-enabled workflows, operating procedures, and best practices.
- Act as a bridge between business users and technical teams by translating operational problems into practical automation and AI delivery requirements.

6. Documentation Reporting

- Create and maintain documentation for automation processes, AI-enabled workflows, tools, integrations, dependencies, and support procedures.
- Develop concise reports and dashboards that track automation performance, adoption, operational impact, and business value.
- Document test results, known limitations, troubleshooting steps, lessons learned, and reusable best practices.
- Provide clear communication on delivery timelines, risks, dependencies, blockers, and progress updates to stakeholders.
- Support measurement of business outcomes such as manual effort reduced, processing time saved, error reduction, throughput improvement, and cost avoidance.
- Maintain proper version control, change management.
